Views over Tokyo from the top of Tokyo Tower after the climb last week.
This time last week I was in Seoul, Korea on the Grade 12 trip. A great opportunity to visit another Asian city. We visited two palaces including Gyeongbokgung Palace. It was in a lovely location near some mountains with gardens and a lake and there were several lovely pavilions along with plenty of selfie taking tourists - many in hired "hanbok" the traditional dress of Korea.
Two more installations from the Shiota Chiharu exhibition.
I was at the Mori Tower for an exhibition "The Soul Trembles" by Shiota Chiharu, a Japanese artist based in Berlin, known for her large scale complex installations, performance art/videos and stage design projects. Some of the most stunning installations consisted of red and black threads strung across entire gallery spaces.
I think the exhibition is scheduled to move to the Queensland Art Gallery so you maybe able to visit when in BrisVegas.
The blog returns!
Back in Tokyo - this view from Mori Tower in Roppongi, looking towards Tokyo Tower (red middle back) shows the expanse and density of central Tokyo. I visited Roppongi last week for wonderful exhibition at Mori Modern Art Gallery. The views from the 52nd floor were amazing.
