Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to readers of Chiangmaimary.

I hope you like this gorgeous Christmas tree in Tokyo Midtown as much as I did.

Thank you for looking at the blog again this year.
I hope to see some of you while I am home over New Year.
The blog will be back from Tokyo in 2020.

Sunday Kimono 12 - At the market

The Boroichi Market last Sunday was wonderful - so many great things to taste, to try and of course to buy - including kimonos.  Loved this lady in her winter kimono checking out the vintage/second hand kimonos.

The Gingko season is coming to an end, but they are still beautiful, even when fallen.

Shoes

As a break from maples and autumn colours - some photos of the amazingly ugly and undoubtedly uncomfortable shoes on display in Harajuku - the teenage fashion hive of Tokyo.

Sunday Kimono 10 - Ginkgo

Snapped a photo of these two stylish women (and their friends)  in the best Kimono posing for photos and strolling on Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Avenue in Tokyo. Kimono and fur!! How do they walk in those sandals???

A Multicolored Carpet

The interwoven leaves and trunks of the illuminated maples at Hogon-in Temple looked like a multi coloured carpet or maybe a ceiling.  Loving autumn in Japan - especially at night time.

A maple and a bird

While in Shinjuku park on Sunday I spent some time watching this bird slowly thorough a reflection filled pond.

Sunday Kimono 9

Todoroki Gorge was my target for a Saturday exploration.  At the temple in the gorge I watched this couple pose for photos, with minders showing them where to stand and how to throw hand fulls or leaves.  Her kimono was brilliant.
